Product Profile:
General Description:
An aliphatic polyisocyanate to be mixed with various alkyds to increase the gloss, hardness and chemical resistance and to accelerate their drying, curing and chemical cross-linking.
Common Usage:
This product may be used for applications where light exposures to acids, alkalis, salt, most solvents and water is evident.

Coating Systems:
Primer Coats:
After mixing J-1100 with the appropriate alkyd and properly preparing the surface it may be used as a finish coat over alkyd primers, acrylics, polyamide epoxies, urethanes, vinyls and direct to substrate. Suitable over inorganic zinc primers provided a compatible intermediate coat, such as Anchor Hi-Build Epoxy, is used first.

Follow the surface preparations of the coating to which J-1100 is being added.

Storage Temperature:
Minimum 50 F Maximum 80F
J-1100 Polyurethane Hardener should be tightly sealed and stored where it is protected from heat, moisture, and foreign materials. Recommended storage temperatures are 50 - 80 F. Temperatures above this may cause material to polymerize or container to burst. It is recommended that the contents be used as soon as possible after opening as contamination may cause material to solidify. Storage life under normal conditions is one year.

Mix Ratio: Thoroughly mix 8 parts paint portion with one part J-1100 hardener.

Application Considerations:
Follow the recommendations of the coating to which J-1100 is being added. The addition of more converter than recommended may shorten pot life and cause coating to become excessively brittle. Not recommended for submersion or for exposures where temperatures exceed more than 275 F continuously.
