Product Profile:
General Description:
This material is a high-solids modified polyamine cure organic zinc rich epoxy coating that provides a low temperature cure with excellent chemical and solvent resistance. Modified polyamine cured epoxies combine outstanding resistance to solvents, tap and salt water, acids and bases, shock and abrasion.
Common Usage:
Excellent adhesion and flexibility are obtained over metal. This product is a shop and field applied primer for steel.

This product is specially designed for use in a 3 component system with an epoxy barrier coat (#CC-1514) and a Urethane (#4900 Series) topcoat. Consult your Anchor representative for specifc job recommendations.
 
Surface Preparation:
SSPC-SP 6 is recommended including removal of all mill scale. Remove any grease, oil, or dirt with solvent or chemical cleaner before sand blasting, in accordance with SSPC-SP 1.

Cooler temperatures and higher humidity will require a longer cure time. However, very rapid cures can be obtained by force drying or baking the epoxy.

Mixing: One part Anchor #CC-1739 Catalyst to four parts #CC-1738 Zinc Rich Epoxy. Stir the Catalyst into the Epoxy. Agitation during application is highly recommended.
Thinning: Thin with Anchor #3905 as needed.
Surface Temperature:
Minimum 40 F Maximum 90 F
The surface should be dry and the relative humidity should be below 90%.
Application Equipment:
Airless Spray
Pressure: 1800-3000 psi.
Tip: .015
Conventional Spray
Air Pressure: 75-100 psi.
Fluid Pressure: 10-20 psi
Brush: Use a high quality natural china bristle brush, for touch up purposes only.
Cleanup: Clean equipment thoroughly before and immediately after using Anchor #3905.
Application Considerations:
Do not apply when the surface temperature is less than 5 F or 3 C above the dew point. Coverage will vary depending on porosity of the surface and appplication technique. Allow for application losses due to overspray conditions and surface texture.
