Product Profile:
 |
General Description:
A 100% pure acrylic emulsion maintenance/shop primer that develops
barrier corrosion resistance, normally associated only with solvent-borne
primers.
|
 |
Common Usage:
These primers offer excellent adhesion to various substrates such as
structural steel, aluminum, galvanize, concrete, masonry, and wood.
|
 |
Color: White, Gray, and Red |
 |
Finish: Low Sheen |
Coating Systems:
 |
Finish Coats:
Typical topcoats include waterborne enamels such as Anchor #2800 Series
and many alkyd enamels. Consult your Anchor representative for
specific job recommendations.
|
Surface Preparation:
 |
Apply only over clean, dry and properly cured surfaces that are free of cutting
solutions, form release agents, dirt, loose foreign matter and moisture. On
structural steel, the substrate shall be thoroughly degreased in accordance
with SSPC-SP1 standards. All burrs should be removed and sharp edges or
rough weld seams should be ground down. All rust and mill scale should be
removed as required by SSPC-SP6 surface preparation (minimum). For
bridge construction, SSPC-SP5 is recommended.

Application Considerations:
Spray recommended. Do not apply when overnight freeze, rain or dew is
forecast. NOTE: During Conditions of high humidity or moist air, allow for
a much longer cure time. Warm air, moving over the substrate, will
promote drying and improve cure time when less than optimum application
conditions exist. When applying this coating by roller application, extra
attention to detail is necessary to avoid pinholes.
