Product Profile:
General Description:
A unique resin that consists of 30% Silicone resin incorporated into an alkyd. This addition adds a much longer coating life through slower erosion. Due to the incorporation of silicone increasing gloss and color retention, three or four times the longevity can be realized over pure alkyds.
Common Usage:
Heavy equipment, structures, many types of storage tanks, transport vehicles, etc.

Coating Systems:
Primer Coats:
Anchor #1600 or #1730 Series Rust Inhibitive Primers. Consult your Anchor representative for specific job recommendations.
 
Surface Preparation:
At minimum, the substrate should be cleaned in accordance with SSPC-SP1. All burrs should be removed and sharp edges or rough weld seams should be ground down. Where weathered steel is applicable and where the substrate has reached rust grade, appropriate chemical cleaning or blasting will be necessary. This product is designed to applied over a barrier primer or intermediate coats. When not feasible, this product can be applied directly over the substrate making sure a maximum millage is achieved.

Recommended Thickness: 1.6-2.0 mils per coat. Two coats recommended.

Application:

Mixing: Stir thoroughly,making sure no pigment remains on the bottom of the can.
Thinning: Use Anchor #J-1131 or #J-34 Fine Finish Blend.
Surface Temperature:
Minimum 40 F Maximum 110 F
The surface should be dry and the relative humidity should be less than 85%.
Application Equipment:
Airless Spray
Use appropriate tip and pressure for equipment, technique, and weather conditions.
Pressure: 1200-2200 psi
Tip: .011"-.015"
Conventional Spray
Air Pressure: 60-80 psi
Fluid Pressure: 10-20 psi
Brush: Use high quality natural china bristle brushes.
Roller: Use 1/4" synthetic nap covers.
Cleanup: Use Anchor #J-1131 or #J-34 Fine Finish Blend.
Application Considerations:
Brush, spray, or roll. Apply in wet coats to avoid dusting. When spraying, use cross-hatch method, overlapping each pass 50%. Clean system thoroughly before and after each use. On a derusted surface the application of a dry film thickness of at least 2 mils is recommended.
