General Description: A low V.O.C., penetrating oil/ alkyd rust inhibitive primer. #1722 - This product meets the performance requirements of SSPC Paint 15 type I, Red Oxide Paint
	Common Usage: Typical substrates include structural steel, storage tanks, steel fences, machinery and equipment, bridges and towers. This product can also be used over concrete surfaces.
	Color: #1703-Gray, #1711- Dark Gray, #1722-Red and #1730-White.
	Finish: Flat

Finish Coats: Suitable topcoats include alkyds, modified alkyds, and water-borne coatings. Do not apply epoxies, vinyls, or other coatings containing strong solvents such as aromatics or ketones. Consult your Anchor representative for specific job recommendations.

For maximum performance, the recommended substrate should be blasted in accordance with SSPC-SP7. If blast cleaning is not feasible, the substrate should be degreased in accordance with SSPC-SP1. All burrs should be removed and sharp edges or rough weld seams should be ground down. Full use should then be made of mechanical power tools, in conjunction with wire brushing and chipping to remove all loose rust and mill scale to a standard of cleanliness conforming to SP-2 or SP-3.

	Mixing: Stir thoroughly, making sure no pigment remains on the bottom of the can.
	Thinning: This coating is V.O.C. compliant, thin only if necessary with Anchor #J-1131

	Application Considerations: The recommended method of application is by airless spray. However, brush, roller or conventional spray may also be used. To avoid dusting, apply in wet coats. On a derusted surface, the application of a dry film thickness of at least 2 mils is recommended. With any oxidative coating, faster dry time may be obtained with incresed air movement and/or higher substrate or material temperature.
