Failures: Voids, Skips, Holidays    << Back Description: Voids appear on painted surfaces. Cause: Painting was done in a poorly lit area. The brush or roller passed over low spots on the surface area where there might have been contamination. Not enough paint applied to the surface. Prevention: Always work in a well-lit area. Use the appropriate brush or roller nap thickness for the texture of the surface painted. Clean the surface prior to coating application. Use the proper application technique to assure sufficient paint is applied in a uniform manner. Cure: Clean the surface if necessary and then recoat the surface.
