Failures: Voids, Skips, Holidays

Description: Voids appear on painted surfaces.
Cause:
- Painting was done in a poorly lit area.
- The brush or roller passed over low spots on the surface area where there might have been contamination.
- Not enough paint applied to the surface.
Prevention:
- Always work in a well-lit area.
- Use the appropriate brush or roller nap thickness for the texture of the surface painted.
- Clean the surface prior to coating application.
- Use the proper application technique to assure sufficient paint is applied in a uniform manner.
Cure: Clean the surface if necessary and then recoat the surface.
