Poor Coverage or Poor Hiding
| << Back |
Description: The subsurface shows through newly painted surface.
Cause:
- Too much thinner was added to the material.
- The coating was not mixed or agitated adequately prior to application.
- The previous surface is darker / brighter than the applied coating.
- There has not been enough paint applied to the surface.
- The paint was applied improperly by using the wrong equipment.
Prevention:
- Use caution if thinning material. Do not over-thin.
- Mix paint thoroughly to insure all pigments are sufficiently incorporated.
- Use the appropriate primer or sealer if applying light colors over dark colors.
- Use the proper application methods.
Cure: Recoat using a primer or under coater and then add the finish coat.
