Spotting: Plaster/Drywall Flat or Dull Spots

Description:
There are dull or chalky spots.

Cause:
  • The surface was not sealed with the appropriate primer or sealer.
  • Too much thinner was added to the material.
  • An incorrect application technique was used.
Prevention:
  • Use the appropriate primer or sealer prior to applying the finish coat.
  • Use caution if thinning material. Do not over-thin.
  • Apply the coating in an even and uniform manner.
Cure:
Spot prime the affected areas and then recoat entire surface.
