Description: The presence of dome shaped paint bubbles that indicate a loss of adhesion.
Cause: Moisture or vapor has been trapped caused by the following:
- Rain
- High humidity
- Wet surface
- Painting when temperature is too high
- The surface has not been properly cleaned
Prevention: Eliminate the source of the moisture. Control the moisture below the substrate by venting, removing leaks and caulking.
Cure: Remove all of the affected areas by scraping and sanding the surface. Power washing may be necessary.
